About

I’m a serial entrepreneur and currently building my third startup. I’m co-founder and CEO of Squirro.com, a Big Data Analysis platform and Memonic.com, a web based digital notebook. Previously, I was co-founder and CEO of local.ch, the leading local search platform in Switzerland.

Prior to launching local.ch, from 1999 to 2005 I was partner and COO at Namics, the largest Swiss Web consultancy with a strong presence in Germany. I’m co-author of the book “Digital erfolgreich” (Digital success) and enjoy teaching at the University of Geneva, the HWZ and occasionally elsewhere.

The Swiss newspapers Le Temps and Bilanz have named me a number of times to be a Top 100 Digital Shaper and have since included me in the Swiss Digital Hall of Fame.

Since last summer I am an elected member of the city council of Zollikon, a small town on the outskirts of Zurich. This is part of my extra-curricular activity in the Swiss system, called ‘Milizsystem / Milita System“. I am responsible for public and civil construction and the maintenance department of all public works. For more on my political view points: read my blog and check out this page.

Married, proud daddy, living in Zollikon near Zurich.
